I know I'm like two weeks late and ALSO including a fic I """technically""" started posting in January, but please consider: I do what I want. \0/

The Year at a Glance:

Total number of completed stories: 5! I normally go off my ao3 stats, but I have an unpublished fic I wrote which comes after a fic I still have to write. (It's from the Claude/Sid winner's room series, in case anyone is wondering.)

Total word count: 63,441

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted? Less! By about 40k. Part of that is I have some WIP fics that should be done this year, but some of it is that I haven't really been interested in the same way I was last year? *shrugs*

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January? Definitely Into the Spider-Verse. After watching it, I literally asked "is this DC?" even though 1. I JUST SAW THE MOVIE, and 2. I've seen MCU stuff with Peter Parker alskdjflskd.

What’s your own favorite story of the year? I can't decide, but probably not Talk To Me Like Lovers Do, if only for the reason that the beginning fought me Hard. /0\ It's honestly a toss up between the other four fics.

Did you take any writing risks this year? *squints* I wrote... some non-hockey rpf stuff with all the days, they got short? And wasn't involved in Into the Spider-Verse in any sort of fandom way before (or after) writing my fic? Which was different.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year? Probably 100k again, spread out over fic and original stuff. I'd like to get the winner's room sequel finished, and I have a collection I'm working on. ^___^ I love writing original stuff and I want to get back to it more.

From my past year of writing, what was…

My best story of this year: WHAT IS BEST!!! *cough* probably my unpublished winner's room fic, sorry *cough* It hits a lot of what I think are the right emotional notes. Plus, I just love it.

My most popular story of this year: By kudos and hits, it's Casual Love, No Casualties. I think that might change when All New Rules overtakes it, though, since the latter has only been up a couple of weeks.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Talk To Me Like Lovers Do? It has Flower/Vero/Kris/Cath, which might be a little daunting for 1. poly, and 2. actual wives.

Most fun story to write: Probably All New Rules. I think there's stuff I would change about it if I had more time, but writing it gave me the same feeling as jumping up and down enthusiastically on a bed. \0/

Story with the single sexiest moment: Casual Love, No Casualties! *plops down quote* Claude looks a picture like this-—half-undressed, the lines Marc has scored on his skin puffing up, lips red and wet. Marc steps between Claude's spread thighs, the shiny black leather of his dress shoes somehow making the picture even dirtier, and Claude sways forward.

Most “holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you” story: SOME people might say it's making readers care about a character who dies after like five minutes of screen time, but those people are WRONG.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Again, the Spider-Verse fic: all the days, they got short. I did not expect to have emotions about the original Peter Parker? I just wanted to knOW HOW HIS GRADUATE ADVISOR FELT! *blobsob*

Hardest story to write: I'm cheating and putting a WIP here with the winner's room sequel. It's odd, because it feels like a swan song of sorts? It's what Losers III feels like it would be if I ever got around to writing it.

Biggest disappointment: Hmmm. Maybe... not participating in a holiday exchange? I feel like the participants for hockeyhols have shifted to ships I'm not really interested in, so I'm not actually sad about not signing up. Kassie and I did our own exchange of fics, so we basically cut out the middle-man for any exchange we've ever been in. It's all good in the end. ^___^

Biggest surprise: How fast I can write when I'm working 60-hour weeks alskdjfldskjf.

Thanks to everyone who read, kudos'd, commented, brainstormed, beta'd, chatfic'd, and generally made me smile. <3

I feel you on the holiday exchange. I *almost* signed up, but I opted for Yuletide instead this year. It was the right decision, but I'm still a little :( about it.

Also, I am very *eyes emoji* about more Sid/Claude winner's room. The tried and true trope for me. <3
